Father Eusebio Francesco Chini S.J.
In 1964, Father Kino Memorial Statue Committee, commissioned Frances O’Brien of Tucson in Arizona to compose the portrait of Father Kino to depict the ” Father pioneer” as historical and human as accurate as possible. Having studied dozens of pictures of the descendants, she achieved first a pencil portrait, then painted in oils. The picture shown here on the pages of our website, is a reproduction of the pencil one; it is saved and displayed at the Arizona Historical Society in Tucson in Arizona.
