Carissimi amici di Padre Kino,
L’anno scorso a Settembre, per un caso veramente fortunato a causa di alcuni problemi al mio computer, ricevevo attraverso il nostro indirizzo E-Mail  info@padrekino.org,  una messaggio dalla Signora Alexandra Carsten, della Rivista National Geographic Deutschland (Edizione Tedesca della famosa rivista Americana).
Ci veniva richiesto di fornire un ritratto di Padre Kino che sarebbe servito a creare la sezione di un libro relativa al missionario che il NGD intendeva inserire tra un elenco dei 100 esploratori più importanti dello scorso millennio.
Ebbene, io stento ancora a crederlo, l’opera si à conclusa ed il libro è pronto a raccontare ai lettori di lingua tedesca del National Geographic le gesta di esploratore di Padre Eusebio Chini.
Desidero esprimere il mio più apprezzato ringraziamento alla Signora Carsten ed ai Padri Gesuiti Tedeschi per avermi fornito l’immagine in formato ad alta definizione nonché a Padre Polzer ed ai Padri Gesuiti d’Arizona che hanno concesso l’utilizzo del ritratto di cui vantano i diritti d’autore.
Il NGD per conto della stessa signora Carsten ci ha voluto inviare un copia omaggio (opera di notevole fattura artistica) che verrà conservata con dovizia nel museo di Segno. L’opera già in commercio è disponibile sul catalogo del NGD consultando il loro sito internet  www.nationalgeographic.de. Per i i soci dell’Associazione il prezzo è di € 29,4.

Dear Paolo, first of all, I would like to thank you very much for your help, but I’m a little bit in trouble: I have one free copy of the book as a complimentary copy for the image of Padre Kino. I’m not quite sure, to whom I have to send it. To you or P. Carlo. You sent us the image, but The Jesuits gave the permission. Paolo, 
There are two O’Brien portraits of Kino. One is the sketch in charcoal and the other is an oil painting. Both were given to the Historical Society, but the charcoal sketch was first reproduced by Jane Ivancovich and permission was given for us (both the SMRC and the Jesuits of Southern Arizona) to use it at any time. So the NGD can use the sketch and credit the Jesuits Fathers of Southern Arizona.
